Google For - Really Personalized Search

Are you sick of all those “personalized search” sites that really just feel the same as the original site? Want to see your name in lights - or colors? Check out GoogleFor - it’s a truly personalized search page to start on. It doesn’t personalize your results, or even give you customization options. All it does is replace “Google” with the name or word of your choice. Yes, that’s a different take on personalization, and yes my tongue has been firmly planted in cheek for the duration of this post. But this is kind of fun; check it out.

Netvibes - Personal homepage

Netvibes is the latest web-app based on the idea of personalized home pages. There are already services which offers personalized homepages like Google’s personal homepage, Microsoft’s Start. It is powered by nicely developed Ajax.

The aim of it is to provide a place on the internet where you can set just the content you like, a super easy way of building your personnalized homepage, available anywhere, anytime. No registration is needed, however if you want to access your page from another computer you’ll be able to do it by registering with your email address and a password.

The page looks pretty good, modules are intuitive, the page interaction is easy. Netvibes looks like a pretty good Ajax-based homepage, so you should definitely check it out.
